Russian Ridge

Matthias is fit again AND the sun is shining! It’s time for a trip!

Together with our Mexican friends Maria and Omar, we join a group full of joyful hikers climb the Russian Ridge. Okay, it’s more strolling than climbing as it isn’t that steep. But it is nice and quite close to Stanford.

First we have to get familiar with the safety precautions …

…but thenoff we go!

It is pretty here – and the sun is shining warm, which is especially fine after this wet and cold start of the year! We have obviously caught one of the wettest and coldest winters that California has ever seen – sometimes you have bad luck… But not today!

Russian Ridge at its best…

…and a splendid visibility.

Sometimes we pause…

Isn’t it nice?

Slowly we are getting hungry

It’s noon and we stand at a fork. Should we turn right and get back to the car, or just turn left?

Nani to Arpit: “Hey, I’ve never turned left before, have you?”

Arpit to Nani: “No, I haven’t either …”

The adventurous Nani to Arpit: “Come on, let’s do it today! Let’s find out where the way leads … “

Arpit asks the rest of the group: “Well, do you want to jump into this adventure?”

Growling stomaches and doubtful faces are the answer.

Nani: “What are you asking THEM? We are not here for asking questions, but for walking!”

So we turn left…

We are almost a little relieved as after one kilometer a fence prevents us from further exposing and we are allowed to return to the car.

Maria, Omar, Matthias and I are driven by our good car Carsten to the beach. Here we enjoy our picnic at the sandy beach while listening to the surge, chatting and feeling the sunshine on our nasal tip …

Thankful for this carefree and beautiful day…
